Which are the most expensive cities in the world? This is revealed in the Economist's annual report, the Worldwide Cost of Living Index , which compares the prices of more than 200 services and products in 172 cities.
What emerged from theEconomist Intelligence Unit (EIU ) survey is that the average cost of living increased by 8.1%, largely due to the war in Ukraine and the long-term consequences of the pandemic.
However, there are cities that are more expensive than others and this research, which analysed increases in everyday goods in many cities around the world, shows this.
The most expensive city in the world? There are actually two: New York and Singapore are tied at the top of the list, taking the top spot away from Tel Aviv, which drops to third place. Details of the report can be found on the official website .
